So far, this system has really worked for me and I’m super excited to keep up with my meal planning this year. These don’t have to be elaborate meals Pizza and pancakes totally count. Grab a blank sheet of paper and write down about 20 favorite dinner ideas. Then I write down a dinner idea for each day of the month. If we’re going to be out and about all day, I’ll plan a crockpot meal or make sure that we have leftovers in the fridge that we can easily pull out and warm up. Make a list of your family’s favorite dishes. Once I have all the ideas rounded up, I can take a look at the calendar side and see what events I have that I need to plan around. But I’ll add a few new ideas to try out every once in a while. Lunch is mostly leftovers and quesadillas or sandwiches. So I don’t brainstorm a whole lot of breakfast ideas. Breakfasts are more of a weekly basis… most days we have cereal or oatmeal, but I’ll throw in a special day here and there. Template files works well with OpenOffice and Google Apps. Options available for direct download and customization. I really only plan out dinners for the month. Great collections of FREE calendar templates available in many different format including Microsoft Word, Excel and PDF. I have absolutely loved having it, so I thought that I would share with you.įirst off, I love how I have a place to brainstorm different meal ideas and have all of my ideas in one place before throwing it onto a calendar. I’ve been working pretty hard on designing the perfect planner that will help me keep track of every aspect of my life and one part of it is my meal planning insert. This year I am determined to get back on top of meal planning. I honestly had the best of intentions and was even going to do a monthly calendar and share, but pregnancy and having a baby kind of messed that plan up! I must admit that meal planning took a bit of slide for me last year.
